Jonathan Schooler – Senior Research Director (Cognition)

Jonathan brings brilliant psychology acumen to the team and ensures their efforts follow a scientific approach and are appropriately aligned with the latest science and research in psychology and neuroscience. Jonathan received his Ph.D is psychology in 1987 and has been a professor and researcher in the field ever since. He has taught at the University of Pittsburgh, the University of British Colombia and since 2007 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Jonathan pursues research on consciousness, memory, the relationship between language and thought, problem-solving, and decision making. He is currently a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and serves on the editorial boards of Consciousness and Cognition and Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience. Jonathan’s work has been supported by numerous national, international and government institutions and he is the author or co-author of more than one hundred papers published in scientific journals or edited volumes.
